The Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment throughout the facility, ensuring that all areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness to support the health and well-being of our patients, staff, and visitors.Laundry and linen care is another important task for housekeepers, who wash towels, bed linens, and other linens in accordance with guidelines. They take great care and precision when sorting, washing, drying, ironing, and folding laundry to make sure that all of the linens are clean, fresh, and arranged nicely for residents or visitors to use.

In addition, housekeepers are in charge of keeping track of the quantities of toiletries, cleaning supplies, and other necessities. To make sure that cleaning activities go smoothly and effectively, they keep an eye on inventory levels, restock supplies as needed, and alert supervisors when inventory levels are low.

Core Competencies and Essential Job Duties of Housekeeper

• Perform cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in patient rooms, offices, common areas, and other designated areas according to established protocols and schedules.
• Sanitize and disinfect surfaces, equipment, and high-touch areas regularly to prevent the spread of infections and maintain a hygienic environment.
• Collect and dispose of trash and medical waste in accordance with safety guidelines and regulations.
• Clean and stock restrooms with supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and towels to ensure cleanliness and functionality.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning and janitorial supplies as needed, ensuring adequate inventory levels are maintained.
• Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials and biohazard waste.
• Assist with special cleaning projects and tasks as assigned, such as deep cleaning, floor waxing, and carpet shampooing.
• Adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required while performing cleaning duties.
• Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or cleanliness concerns to the appropriate personnel for prompt resolution.
• Collaborate with other staff members and departments to coordinate cleaning activities and maintain a cohesive and efficient work environment.
• Uphold confidentiality and respect the privacy of patients, staff, and visitors at all times.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with patients, visitors, and fellow staff members.

Requirements of Housekeeper

• A high school diploma or its equivalent.
• It would be preferred if you had prior housekeeping or equivalent experience.
• Keen eye for detail and excellent planning abilities.
• Physical endurance and the capacity to carry out monotonous work.
• Understanding of cleaning methods, tools, and supplies.
• The capacity to function both alone and together.
• Proficiency in communication abilities.
• The ability to work different shifts, including weekend, holiday, and night shifts.
• Dependability and consistency.
• Respect for safety rules and procedures.
• Willingness to undergo background checks or screenings as required by the employer or local regulations.
