The main duty of a Quality Control Manager in an organization is to supervise and guarantee the regular provision of high-quality goods or services. Responsibilities of Quality Control Manager
- Ensure technical engineering compliance with contract requirements and with the quality control plan;
- Inspection of structures, equipment, engineering hardware, parts and materials, and documenting any discrepancies assuring proper disposition;
- Act as the engineering subject matter expert to ensure the technical compliance of manufactured parts to the contract requirements, governmental standards, and safety regulations;
- Plan and formulate inspections plans, and direct the quality control activities for assigned work unit to ensure compliance with contractual requirements;
- Determine quality assurance methodology and techniques to be used in inspecting and testing systems or material;
- Conduct quality assurance audits and prepare report to document findings;
- Coordinate with other work units to accomplish assigned work and advise other managers on status of work;
- Interface and act as a quality control liaison with customers, contractors and suppliers;
- Review and recommend changes and/or resolve technical problems;
- Provide technical and operational support and/or services to ensure quality assurance standards are met in providing support to various project tasks;
- Develop reports and papers on the progress and status of assigned projects;
- Develop corrective actions to support task problems and failures;
- Prepare or coordinate the preparation of quality assurance reports, requirements, etc., in response to requests for proposals, quotes, brochures, and manuals;
- Review quality assurance program plans, proposals and inspections plans;
- Plan and recommend action plans for quality control improvement methods;
- and, Supervision of Quality Control Inspectors and/or other administrative employees.
Qualifications For Quality Control Manager
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science or Engineering, related field, or foreign equivalent and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Knowledge of:
- the quality assurance process;
- determining quality assurance methodology and techniques;
- QMS systems;
- AutoCAD, Minitab, and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Professional Engineering License required;
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification from American Welding Society or foreign equivalent required.
